Korean Children

Things you should know:

       Korean children study extremely hard.

They go to public school and afterwards attend Hagwons (Private Schools).

In many cases they will study from 9am to 11pm during weekdays and will also
           attend school during weekends.

Despite their workload they are generally well-behaved, enthusiastic and
           respect their teachers.

Children are very competitive knowing each others level in every subject.

The smartest students often get preferential treatment.

Kindergarten and Elementary school students can dress freely.

Middle school and High school students wear a uniform and have a strict
           appearance code.

Do not be surprised if you see Korean teachers disciplining their students by
hitting them on the  hands with a stick or making them stand with their arms in
            the air.
